Ooklah the Moc: Back on the Road

The strictly roots-dub-reggae outfit from O’ahu, Hawai’i, known as Ooklah the Moc, will return to the mainland this May.

Sprouting out of the Pololo Valley on Hawaii’s island of O’ahu, Ooklah the Moc has been performing live since 1997. With nearly two decades of experience, Ooklah the Moc is one of the most popular bands that calls the islands of Hawai’i home.13177498_10153995218347247_5353579597414701177_n

Over the band’s career, Ooklah the Moc has performed alongside some of the biggest names in reggae, such as Gregory Isaacs, Alborosie, Rebelution, Katchafire, and SOJA, as well as being featured at such prestigious reggae festivals Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and California Roots Music and Arts Festival.

After tour exclusively throughout Hawai’i and the South Pacific, Ooklah the Moc will be returning to the continental 48-states for the first time in nearly five years.

Beginning on May 18th, Ooklah the Moc will perform throughout California, hitting the cities of Santa Ana, Hermosa Beach, San Diego, Santa Barbara, as well as, shows in Las Vegas and Scottsdale, along with their return to California Roots on May 27th, concluding the tour.

The eight dates featured on the upcoming tour will feature special guests Josh Heinrichs and SkillinJah with For Peace Band from Guam.

With such a long time between past performances from Ooklah the Moc on the West Coast, fans will surely be in for a treat, featuring new music from the band’s upcoming album release Everything Posse mixed with the longtime fan favorites from Rearrance Your Positive (2004), Ites Massive (2001) and Vaults (2008).
