Perhaps the premier roots-rock-reggae band from Aotearoa has announced their Burn It Down Tour 2016.
New Zealand’s Katchafire are considered one of the hardest working and most consistent touring bands in the reggae genre. It always seems like they are performing on the road throughout Europe, the United States and in the South Pacific in Australia and New Zealand.
Known for their songs, “Love Letter”, “Feels Like”, “Seriously”, “Who You With” and countless others, fans are always anxiously awaiting the captivating live performance put on on by New Zealand’s prodigal sons, Katchafire.
The United States leg of tour dates has already commenced n in Hawai’i. Katchafire performed on O’ahu on April 6th with shows on the Big Island of Hawai’i, Kaua’i, Maui and a fundraiser for the Moloka’i schools in Honolulu to conclude the Hawai’i dates.
At The Republik in Honolulu, the U.S. Tour launch party featured a special guest appearance by Polynesian singing sensation, George Veikoso, also known by his stage name, Fiji, along with opening act performances by Peni Dean, the voice of Natural Vibrations and Ooklah the Moc.
Following the band’s Hawai’i tour dates, Katchafire will fly to the mainland with shows beginning on April 14th in Texas. The tour will feature opening act, Mystic Roots from Chico, CA.
In all, the tour will feature 49-shows from April 14th to June 11th. Multiple dates in Texas, Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado and British Columbia are all on the docket for the Burn It Down Tour.
The highlights of the upcoming tour schedule will be festival dates at the 7th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival in Monterey and the 13th annual Summer Meltdown Festival in Santa Clarita.
Katchafire released their most recent single, “Down With You” in 2014, and their has been some speculation regarding a new album in the works for 2016. So, fans at these upcoming shows could potentially experience some of their favorite Katchafire songs, as well as witness some new tracks live for the very first time.
