Going into its 13th edition, the Summer Meltdown Festival has expanded to host two-days this year.
The Santa Clarita, California festival has been influential in the music community since the Summer Meltdown’s inception in 2004. The Summer Meltdown is produced by the Yes I Can “Unity Through Music & Education” non-profit organization along with students of all abilities enrolled in the elective class at Canyon High School and their Yes I Can Alumni.
The goal of Summer Meltdown Autism Awareness Art and Music Festival is to bring the public together to celebrate art and music in a positive socially inclusive setting. The Summer Meltdown will feature musical artists on two main stages along with live painters, creating one of a kind art pieces inspired by the music they hear.
Over the years, the Summer Meltdown Festival has featured the likes of Matisyahu, Iration, Pepper, Fishbone, Stick Figure, Dirty Heads, The Expendables, Shwayze, Cisco Adler and countless others.
Now, for the 2016 edition, the festival will see Katchafire, Chali 2na, The Expanders, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Jordan T, Through The Roots, Stranger, Seedless, Synrgy, Arise Roots, Janelle Phillips, and many more grace the stage. There are also, two headlining acts yet to be announced, as the festival dates approach.
With the growth of the festival, the 13th annual Summer Meltdown will expand to two days and will be hosted at a new venue, Central Park in Santa Clarita.
The 13th annual Summer Meltdown will be held on April 30th and May 1st, 2016.
Tickets for the two-day festival are currently available for $30 for single day tickets or $50 for a two-day pass.
