The 7th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival has revealed when each artist or band will perform.
The California Roots Music and Arts Festival has grown exponentially over the bast 7 years in Monterey, California. The Festival grounds have grown in size to accommodate the ever-growing patrons through the gates each year. A prime example of the festival’s growth can be seen in the stages bands perform on.
In the first year, the main stage was the 2015 edition’s smallest stage at the “Cali Roots” Festival. Currently in the festival’s advanced age, the main stage is the same stage Jimi Hendrix had one of his most iconic moments, lighting his Fender Stratocaster on fire. The festival attendance figures have skyrocketed to more than 25,000 for the three-day summer festival. And, this coming year is set to be the biggest year yet.
Recently, the producers of the California Roots Music and Arts Festival announced their full artist lineup for the three-day festival. Now, fans know which respective day their favorite performers will be taking the stage in Monterey, CA.
On May 27th, Cali Roots’ opening day, the headlining act will be San Diego’s own Slightly Stoopid, alongside Atmosphere, J Boog, The Expendables, Barrington Levy, Katchafire, Fortunate Youth, Ooklah The Moc, Peni Dean (the voice of Natural Vibrations), Eli-Mac, Seedless, Thrive and Sticky Fingers. That one day, in itself, is more talent featured than many multiple day festivals present over an entire weekend.
For Saturday, May 28th, the headliners will be Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Stephen “Ragga” Marley, as well as, performances by Pepper, The Green, Tarrus Riley, Mike Love, The Skints, The Expanders, Nattali Rize, Will and the People, Katastro, Jordan T, and The Oles.
The festival’s final day will feature Rebelution as the headlining act, along with performances by Michael Franti and Spearhead, Tribal Seeds, Stick Figure, Protoje, Hirie, Raging Fyah, Gondwana, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Josh Heinrichs, Wheeland Brothers, South Bay All Stars, and Tunnel Vision.
The three-day festival will also feature DJ sets by Amp Live of Zion-I, Westafa, Expanders Sound System, and Dub Architect.
