California Roots has grown side-by-side with the American reggae movement. Since the festival’s inception in 2010, many bands have been invited back to celebrate the overall growth of the festival, genre and respective bands. The 2016 edition of Cali Roots will feature three returning acts from the first edition with Tribal Seeds, Seedless and Thrive.

Many of the bands featured on this year’s California Roots Festival lineup are returnees from past editions, including Slightly Stoopid (2013 & 2015), Rebelution (2011, 2013 & 2014), The Green (2012, 2013 & 2014), J Boog (2012 & 2014), Pepper (2012 & 2014), The Expendables (2012 & 2013), Katchafire (2013 & 2014), Fortunate Youth (2011, 2012, 2013 & 2015), and many more.

However, of the 39 bands and artists performing over the three-day weekend, 14 performers will be debutants at Cali Roots, most notably Stephen Marley, Gondwana, Barrington Levy, Protoje, Tarrus Riley, and Raging Fyah.

There is no doubt, the California Roots Music and Arts Festival has grown exponentially over the past seven-years. The Festival grounds have grown in size to accommodate the ever-growing patrons through the gates each year. A prime example of the festival’s growth can be seen in the stages bands perform on. In the first year, the main stage will be the 2016 edition’s smallest stage at Cali Roots.

Currently in the festival’s advanced age, the main stage is the same stage Jimi Hendrix had one of his most iconic moments, lighting his Fender Stratocaster on fire.

Now, reggae music fans across the globe that are unable to attend the festival will have the pleasure of viewing the headlining performances from all three days, live from the comfort of their home or on their mobile devices.

This year, the producers of Cali Roots have partnered with the LiveList App to stream the 7th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival. Fans that download the application or tune into Californiaroots.com will be able to view their favorite performers from America’s largest reggae festival, California Roots.

If you still have last minute intentions to attend the festival, three-day general admission tickets are still available for $190, as well as single-day tickets for $85. If not, the festival will be available for your viewing pleasure, directly at your fingertips from the comfort of your own home or on the go, utilizing your mobile device.
