Two of the leading reggae acts from Hawai’i, Maoli and Through The Roots will tour the United States.
Both Maoli and Through The Roots have been touring “The Mainland” United States for quite some time, and are certainly not considered rookies in the touring circuit. This will be a joint, co-headlining tour with both bands taking turns closing out the night in each city for the Run It Tour.
Maoli, hailing from the island of Maui, burst on to the reggae radio airwave since their 2008 debut album release of Groovin.
The band’s first release launched a successful stint as mainstays on O’ahu, Maui and Big Island radio stations with hit singles, “No One” and “Write Me A Letter”.
But, up until 2012, Maoli were only local performers throughout the islands of Hawai’i, yet to venture of and grow their fan base outside of the 50th State.
Now, three-years later, after performing on tour as special guests alongside J Boog, Katchafire and Fiji and a new album released, titled One-Eighty, Maoli is set to capitalize on their ever-growing musical momentum.
In a similar scenario, Big Island of Hawai’i natives, Through The Roots, got their start in California, calling San Diego their home base since 2008. Through The Roots or “TTR” quickly gained traction among United States reggae fans while performing opening spots on tour with bands like Rebelution, Iration, Tribal Seeds, The Green and many others.
Before long, Through The Roots established themselves as a headlining act and top-tier recording band with some of iTunes most successful selling albums including, Here To Stay and Take You There, as well as the band’s debut EP album released in 2008.
The Run It Tour will begin on November 19th in San Francisco, featuring tour stops in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and multiple dates throughout the states of Texas and California, respectively.
Now, the devoted fans, friends and countless Polynesian and Hawaiian residents across the states will have their chance to experience a piece of home, live in concert with Maoli and Through The Roots on the Run It Tour.
