Pepper: The Three Amigos Tour

Hawaii’s own prodigal sons, Pepper, are set to headline their first tour in over a year on the Three Amigos Tour.

It seems like it was just yesterday when Pepper ventured from their home on the Big Island of Hawaii to California, joining in on an independent, reggae-rock revolution in the United States. Now, the band has become 15-year veterans of the touring circuit on an international level.

Traveling all across the United States, throughout Europe, South America and Japan, Pepper has long been featured as headlining performers. Their biggest hit song, “Give It Up” still continues to garner major radio air play almost ten years after its debut. The crowds still sing those lyrics, word-for-word, at every show.

But, for the better part of the last two years, Pepper has been playing the role of special guest or direct support for their tour dates with the likes of Sublime with Rome, Rebelution, Dirty Heads and 311. It has been a lengthy period of time that the trio from Kona Town have been the main act of the night.

With seven full-length albums under their belt, including a live album, the band felt it was time for a rebirth. Pepper went so far as to stamp their most recent studio release as a self-titled record. The sound on the album had a pop music quality to it, that rubbed some of those die-hard Pepper fanatics in an unfamiliar way, but have always held on to the classics for comfort. And, something that has always been classic for Pepper, the live shows have still remained high-energy and an all around great time for fans.

So, now it’s time for their return to the spotlight as tour headliners on the Three Amigos Tour. Perhaps a nod to their own trio from the islands or dubbing the three nationwide touring acts that will make up the traveling musical circus this fall. Joining Pepper will be longtime friends and one time labelmates, Ballyhoo! from Baltimore, Maryland and rising up from Phoenix, Arizona a young quartet known simply as Katastro.

Beginning on October 22nd, the Three Amigos Tour will span an entire month, traveling throughout the United States. If you are looking for a vacation before the holiday season, Pepper will also be performing at the second annual Closer To The Sun Festivalin Mexico from December 15-20, 2015.
