Pepper: Summer Tour Schedule

The reggae-rock trio from Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i are going back to their roots for their summer touring schedule.

Pepper, the trio of local boys, Bret Bollinger (Bass/Vocals), Kaleo Wassman (Guitar/Vocals) and Yesod Williams (Drums), from Konawaena High on the Big Island, will be performing their own rendition of Back to the Future. This summer, Pepper will be performing on the Vans Warped Tour, the very same outlet where the Hawaiian natives received their first big break in the music industry. 10665294_10154089945037494_4716091061401081828_n

In 2001, Pepper was invited to perform on the Vans Warped Tour, but there was one catch; the band would have to set up and breakdown the Volcom Stage every single day, in every single city. Fast forward 15-years and Pepper remains the same happy-go-lucky, infectious party band they were since their early days in Kona, however, the band has earned much more comfortable confines as a veteran touring band.

The Vans Warped Tour has long been home to some of the best up-and-coming and well-established bands in the reggae genre both past and present, including Sublime, No Doubt, 311, Morgan Heritage, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Sugar Ray, The Green, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Pacific Dub, Passafire and many more.

This year, Pepper will be performing exclusively on all 42-dates of the three-month long tour of North America. The Vans Warped Tour will be kickoff on June 22nd in Anchorage, Alaska for the first time ever, and will conclude on August 13th in Portland, Oregon. In total, 31 different states will be featured throughout the tour.

Some of the major cities on the touring schedule include, Las Vegas, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Orlando, Denver, Scottsdale, San Diego and at the Pomona Fairplex outside of Los Angeles.

Joining Pepper from the reggae-rock genre will be east coast heavyweights, Ballyhoo! from Aberdeen, Maryland, as well as ska bands Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake.

It seems fitting that Pepper will return to their old stomping grounds this summer. There might not be a better nationwide tour to expose a wide variety of musical palettes to new music. After all, Pepper is set to release their 7th full-length, studio album, Ohana on April 29, 2016.
