Arguably, one of the biggest reggae music festival in Florida will take place on February 27, 2016.
Following 22-years of successful editions of the 9 Mile Music Festival, Miami’s historic Virginia Beach will host the 23rd annual 9 Mile Music Festival. Following suit with previous years, the festival lineup features some of the top ranking international reggae artists.
This year’s 9 Mile Music Festival will feature headlining performances by Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Julian Marley, Skip Marley, Nas, Capleton, Konshens, Protoje and special guests, Mr. Cheeks, Kabaka Pyramid, Styleon and K Camp.
The festival lineup is awfully deep, but this music festival features far more depth than just the music. One of the features at this particular festival is the canned food drive. The 9 Mile Festival is far more than a concert or more than a one-day music festival, the 9 Mile Music Festival has provided over 3 million canned goods since it’s inception.
The festival producers have been distributing all these canned goods to homeless shelters and domestic centers throughout the Miami area, feeding families in need for months. For the past 22 years, the concert has required canned goods in addition to the price of admission, and it always will.
Tickets for the 9 Mile Music Festival are $50 at general admission rates, while folks wishing to be in the VIP can purchases passes for $175.
