The third annual Reggae on the Block has made the full, official lineup announcement for their one day festival.
Taking place in Orlando, Florida on May 7, 2016, Reggae on the Block has put together a rather impressive lineup of the best bands and reggae artists in the United States, currently. It is impressive for the producers of this one-day festival to continue to gather the best and brightest in the genre and grow the festival to over 14 bands, four DJs and plenty of other concessions and amenities.
For this year’s festival, the headliners will be Jamaican reggae performer, Chronixx, Bermuda’s Collie Buddz, as well as J Boog and Common Kings from Hawai’i. Other performers for the festival will be John Brown’s Body, Passafire, The Movement, Hirie, Mike Love, The Expanders, Sammy J, Wheeland Brothers and Lindsay Perry of Billabong.
The festival will hosted by master of ceremonies, Lance-O of Kulcha Shok. Kulcha Shok Muzik is a company that focuses on reggae music, reggae radio, events and a clothing line based out of Florida.
From the first year to the third edition of Reggae on the Block, the lineup has been improved exponentially, as many great festivals across the country have proved.
The first year of Reggae on the Block featured headlining performances by Easy Star All-Stars and The Movement.
One constant at Reggae on the Block has been the presence of international reggae acts sprinkled throughout the festival’s history, such as Katchafire, Rootz Underground, Pato Banton, Ojo De Buey in years past. This year, the festival will feature talent from Jamaica, Bermuda and New Zealand, as well as the islands of Hawai’i.
