The Royal Family of Reggae has announced U.S. tour dates in support of their Grammy nominated album, Strictly Roots.
Morgan Heritage, undoubtedly one of contemporary reggae’s most powerful forces on the global stage, the sensational roots reggae quintet, which comprises siblings Peetah Morgan (vocals), Una Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Roy “Gramps” Morgan (keyboard/vocals),Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan (rhythm guitar) and Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo” Morgan (percussion/vocals) have announced another string of tour dates in the United States to begin 2016.
Currently, Morgan Heritage is performing tour dates throughout Africa, including Ethiopia, where Haile Selassie I became Emperor. Touring throughout Africa is not new to Morgan Heritage, performing previously in Kenya, Gambia, Uganda, Malawai, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe. However some tour dates in 2015 were cancelled due to the outbreak of Ebola on the continent.
Morgan Heritage is accepted with open arms across all continents, and finally received recognition from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Morgan Heritage’s most recent release, Strictly Roots, is up for Best Reggae Album at the 58th Grammy Awards on February 15, 2016.
Following the ceremony, Morgan Heritage will begin their U.S. tour on February 18th in Atlanta, Georgia. The tour will run from February 18-March 1st featuring concert dates in Nashville, New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., among others.
Morgan Heritage’s U.S. tour will feature Jemere Morgan and Blackalicious as the supporting acts.
Most recently, Morgan Heritage released a music video for one of their singles, “Wanna Be Loved” from the Grammy nominated album, Strictly Roots. The song and video features Eric Rachmany, the lead singer and guitarist from American reggae band, Rebelution.
