From the new generation of Jamaican roots, rock, reggae music, Raging Fyah is up for Most Outstanding Show Band.
Raging Fyah, the five-piece outfit includes Kumar Bent on lead vocals, Courtland White on guitar, Anthony Watson on drums, Demar Gayle on keyboards, and Delroy “Pele” Hamilton on bass. On May 27th, Raging Fyah released their third studio album, Everlasting via VP Records and the label’s subsidiary, Dub Rockers.
Coming from the heart of Jamaican music, Raging Fyah recorded Everlasting at Tuff Gong Studios with producer Llamar “Riff Raff” Brown. The result was a 13-track album, which features guest collaborations with J Boog from Hawai’i, as well as Jesse Royal and Busy Signal from Jamaica.
Everlasting, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and subsequently saw a catalyst in their career. Over the past year, Raging Fyah has reached new heights, including performing in the United States for the very first time, as the band supported California reggae-dub band, Stick Figure on its Set In Stone spring tour.
Raging Fyah also performed at the prestigious California Roots Music and Arts Festival on Sunday, May 29th, joining Damian “Jr Gong” and Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Barrington Levy, Tarrus Riley, Don Carlos, and Marlon Asher as the flag bearers from Jamaica.

Now, Raging Fyah could potentially join the likes of such incredible talent, earning some international awards and hardware for their tireless efforts. International Reggae & World Music Awards has nominated Raging Fyah for Most Outstanding Show Band. The nominees are Grammy award-winning Morgan Heritage, legendary Inner Circle, Fab 5, New Kingston and Raging Fyah.
Speaking on the news of their nomination, the band stated “This isn’t about winning for us, it’s about spreading love through music. We are humbled by the nominations especially in the category with bands we admire and respect. This means a lot to us. Thank you to the IRAWMA.”
The 2016 International Reggae and World Music Awards will take place Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The mission of the International Reggae & World Music Awards, established in 1982, acknowledges and honors the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including: songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians.
